Committee
Reports--
Chair:
Carlene
asked for a reading of any Word received during the
12/8 2nd Saturday Adoration or any time between last
DSC meeting and now.
- Joe
read that we are to actively wait upon the Lord,
looking for opportunities for ministry.
- Laurie
read that our view of what defines us as “Charismatic”
maybe should change from “having the gift of Tongues”
and “praising God with a specific style of music”
to using the gifts of the Holy Spirit to minister
in the Church.
- Mike
and Velera agreed with both.
Secretary:
Joe
presented the minutes of the 10/16/2007 DSC meeting.
After discussion, two amendments were noted. Mike
moved minutes be accepted as amended, Joe seconded,
and motion passed by voice vote.
Treasurer:
Velera
presented the Treasurer’s report showing inflow and
expenses in stipends, web-hosting fees, and postage.
Communications:
In
Jan’s absence, Carlene asked about the flyer and article
for the Born of the Spirit seminar. Laurie reported
the flyer had one minor change in the location information
needed before it was ready. Laurie reported and
Mike confirmed seeing an email from Jan to all about
the upcoming Born of the Spirit seminar.
Activities:
Mike
reported that the Born of the Spirit team met at St.
Francis Church on 1/15/2008, and handled almost all
of the preparations for the seminar. Mike
also reported a Charismatic Mass was being planned for
February 29, 2008, and another for a date in late March.
Old
Business--
- Next
DSC Meetings. Carlene asked that the next
DSC meeting be moved from 2/15/2008 to Sunday, 2/17/2008
from 2-4PM at St. Louis Pastoral Center, due to
a Married Couples Retreat that weekend. All
agreed. Due to possible conflicts with the
March and April DSC meeting dates, the DSC discussed
and agreed to move those meetings to 3/9/2008 from
2-4PM at St. Louis Pastoral Center, and 4/26/2008
at the Parish Retreat for Church of the Holy Spirit
at Queen of Peace Retreat Center.
- Life
in the Spirit for Youth. Laurie reported
her committee met, and presented Mike Yarbrough
with a copy of the plan. Mike and his Wife
Carol are currently reviewing the plan.
- Website.
Joe reported the new format for the website
is in place, however there are domain name transfer
issues preventing movement to the new web-hosting
company.
- Stoles
for Deacon Candidates. Carlene reported
her sister was working on the pattern for the Deacon
Stoles. She said a total cost of $68.00 for
both included $50.00 for the pattern-making software,
and $18.00 for materials for both. Mike asked
if Carlene’s sister could make a Priest’s Stole
for the Priest Candidate being ordained on June
7th, 2008. Carlene said she didn’t see any
problem.
- Johnette
Benkovic DVD. Velera reported she had
purchased and viewed the Johnette Benkovic DVD.
She said it had a good message and would view
well in our prayer groups.
New
Business--
- Parish
Retreat for Church of the Holy Spirit. Carlene
asked that the DSC attend the Parish retreat for

Center, weekend of 4/25/2008 to 4/27/2008. After
discussion, it was agreed to attend Saturday, 4/26/2008.

Martel wanted to bring Alex Jones to Holy Rosary
